Cooper thought it was cool to be sitting right next to the lion. Only the piece of glass was separating them.

Elynn, Maddie, and Reagan took us to the Zoo on Monday. Maddie was a trooper! She wasn't feeling well and still wanted to go to the zoo. It is a great zoo and we had a wonderful time exploring everywhere. The other great thing about the zoo was there was no one there. We had the run of the place. It was great and the weather wasn't too bad.

Cooper's new favorite animals are bats. We saw vampire bats and were in an exhibit with fruit bats flying around. He loved it. Maggie loved the baby chimpanzee as did I. Allie really liked the tigers and Chris loved the big snakes. He wants to one day go on an anaconda hunt in the Amazon.

Cooper and Chris had a discussion about how to identify the gender of animals after discussing the private parts of a hog. Cooper then would state if they were male or female by announcing, "This one is a boy because he has balls!" I then had to have a talk with Cooper and Chris about being appropriate. After that talk, Cooper would just say if the animals were boys and he would be correct. Chris just gave me a smirk.

Another highlight of the zoo was feeding the giraffes. We were very up close and personal and Cooper would even touch their tongues when they wold reach out to get the leaves.
