After a doctor's appointement for Cooper to see what was wrong with his stomach--he was having pooping problems--he and Maggie had a science lesson in her room on what the insides of our bodies look like. Maggie had the whiteboard in her room and she was tracing Cooper's body. Then she added the esophagus and stomach. Cooper drew the rest of his bones and intestines.

President's Day

Today the kids and I had a fun day. We went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch, spent their $5 Valentine's money from G&G Davidson, went bowling, and then visited Chris at work--he was a little sad that he missed out on all the fun. We all had a blast bowling--except Maggie. She didn't have the bumpers up and is very competitive, so she was upset that she had a 25 score and Cooper had 100. She really did have fun though as did the rest of us.

A Valentine's Day Scavenger Hunt
Teresa has 3 friends from her ward plus herself planning a scavenger type hunt pre-Valentine's Day Dinner and had one available space left, so she invited me to join them. We met and planned last week what we were going to do and tonight will be the dinner and hunt. The idea is to have the husbands go around hunting for our stuff that we left at certain places and then they have to decide what items are their wife's. I was the clue writer and associated everything to Disney type movies and fairytales (I love fairytales!) and left the clues in the cases of the movies--having VHS tapes still come in handy, even if it is just for the case. It should be a fun evening and excited to see how it turns out. Here are the clues:
A Happily Ever After Date
begins right here
With maidens, princesses, and mermaids,
Your clues are ever so clear.
Your tasks are ever so simple
You must find which one belongs
To your own sweetheart and princess
which is their book, lipstick, or songs.
Nine different places you'll visit
An item will be waiting for you
To stash inside your honey's bag
Of pink or brown or blue.
So, starting right here and now
You'll build your perfect date
With the items of their choosing
So hurry and don't be late!
- "Oliver and Company" may have had a bag lady or two, But your task is to find your lady's bag. Phe-ew!
- The Prince found Cinderella by trying on her shoe, So you must find your true love's shoe by doing the same thing too.
- Aurora was sleeping peacefully with a flower in her hand, so pick your wife's favorite flower found within the land.
- Lady and the Tramp went to their favorite place to dine, now you have to decide what your wife picked for you two to spend some time.
- Ariel had a song to sing to her true love beau, now pick your love's favorite music or favorite movie show.
- Belle always had her nose within her favorite book, but now you must find your wife's, so look and look and look.
- Alice tried some yummy candy that made her grow, now you must find your wife's favorite that you know.
- Snow White had lips...as the red, red, rose. What does your wife wear on her lips? Do you knows?
- The Angels are a baseball team where you could have some fun, but where would your wife like to go after your dinner is done?
- You should have 8 items within your wife's bag, so hurry on to Bill and Sandy's and please don't lag.
Post Script: We had an awesome evening! We had hors d'oeuvres first and then sent the men on the scavenger hunt. Chris got 6 out of my nine items correct. He picked the wrong shoe, lipstick (I don't wear it), and place to go--he picked a movie gift card, but the wrong one. We had dinner at Sandy and Bill's house with prime rib roast, red rosemary potatoes, julienned carrots, broccoli, homemade rolls, peach soup--chilled, salad, and chocolate or lemon cake. We ended up with a game of how well do you know your spouse. Oh, we also had homemade chocolates.
Talent Show

This morning was a talent show for the primary in our ward. When Allie heard about it, the first thing she wanted to do was sing "Castle on a Cloud" from "Les Miserables." She did an outstanding job--she has a very sweet voice and even does vibrato. Maggie played a Spanish song called Malaguena and she also did a fantastic job. Cooper wanted to do all sorts of things, but finally settled on the splits. He gets a very funny face when he does them. They were all very cute. Allie almost backed out at the last minute, but finally did it after a little bribery of ice cream from Costco. (I forgot my memory card, but took pictures at home.)

Making Love at the Superbowl Party!?
Kim is quite the crafty person and is not totally into the Superbowl scene--neither am I really, so she had a wonderful craft for the adult women. She had us make a darling L-O-V-E sign. As we were sitting down decopaging, Teresa stated, "Lance, we are making LOVE over here." Being intriqued at that comment, he trotted on over to our table, looked at what we were doing and gave Teresa a smile and a peck.
A different venue for Superbowl XLIV this year

We went to Kim and Andy's house this year for the Superbowl instead of Chick and Dianne's. Kim and Andy have a much bigger TV room and then the downstairs is full of kid's stuff, so it was a little more accommodating for watching a sporting event and having 11 kids run around. I watched a bit of the game and had fun with the family. We wanted the Colts to win, but it didn't hurt our feelings if the Saints won either. It was a good game to watch...well, what I watched of it.
