Happy Halloween

This is how the day started off--all three with fevers.
Maggie is 'Muriel' from Fable Haven.
Cooper is 'Dracula'
Allie is my cute witch.
Cooper, Maggie, Allie

Today started out at 6:30 a.m. with Maggie coming in telling me her temperature was 101.9 degrees. She asked if she was well enough to go to a birthday party and Trick or Treating tonight. "No sweetheart. We'll have to stay home." Crying and wailing sounds came from her room.

All week we have been home bound because of the flu. Cooper started out with it and then Allie and then me and now Maggie. Chris has escaped so far. Cross your fingers.

We are going to trick or treat around the house in different rooms in their costumes. Hopefully that will appease their not being able to go out.

May you all avoid the flu and have a great Halloween.

The flu bug has bitten!

After carving the pumpkins last night, Cooper said his tummy hurt and he didn't eat dinner. About 4:00 a.m. this morning, he climbed into our bed with a barking cough. Today he spiked a fever of 102.7. I gave him some Tylenol and then he went to bed for 3 hours...so doctor mom says that we probably have the piggy flu here with us. Good thing doctor mom got a Swine Flu shot last week...hopefully it works.

Pumpkin Mania

We had our annual pumpkin carving extravaganza last night for FHE. We all had so much fun and the kids had fun drawing their faces on the pumpkins and cleaning out the guts. Afterwards, we had a pumpkin cake made by Maggie with a little help with the frosting by me.

Jared got his Eagle

Jared, our nephew, received his Eagle award tonight. Lisa and Kory had a dinner at their house first and then we went to the ceremony. It was fun getting together with family and seeing Jared receive an award he worked hard at achieving. Congrats Jared!

The soccer season has ended!

Allie-#20- trying to be persuaded to kick the ball.
Maggie with the hat on stealing the ball.
Cooper yelling while running.

The last day of soccer games was today. Maggie missed the first few weeks because of a broken arm, but loved playing the last 3 games. She is a great full back and loves being a forward and goalie. Cooper is starting to get the game and yells while he runs--like he is attacking the ball. It is cute to watch. Allie is still trying to kick the ball, but continues running with the pack. Maybe she'll get it in the spring.

A fun night out with the Meikles

Kim invited us to go to Dinosaur Park for their haunted trick or treating. We had tons of fun with Drew, Wakely, Kim, and Henry. (Andy was camping with the Young Men.) Cooper dressed up in his Spiderman outfit, Maggie was a character named Muriel from her Fable Haven books--a mean, nasty witch, and Allie was Daphne from Scooby Doo. She quit wearing her wig about 2 minutes after i put it on her. All of the kids had lots of fun and the parents were all impressed with how decorated Dinosaur Park was. It was a fun evening. (Oh, before we met Kim we went to Chuck-a-Rama with Chick and Dianne. And just so you know, Golden Corral is not Chuck-a-Rama even if Sallie says they are the same place. Whoops!)

Allie's 1st soccer season

Allie was totally excited when soccer season started on Sept. 12th --our moving day--and she continues to be excited, but I don't think she gets it. She just follows the crowd around and doesn't even watch the ball. Chris made a goal with her to kick the ball at least 10 times during the game. She came running off the field during one game and exclaimed with frown on her face, "I can't get the ball!" She doesn't give up though and it is fun to watch.

Chris is 38!

We had an early birthday party for Chris today and then we went to dinner at Famous Dave's bbq. Each child bought him 2 Halloween size bags of candy plus a present. He was in candy heaven--all his favorites. He also didn't get any clothes-which are boring to him, so we got him a football, cleats, movies, and sports wear. We sure do love him!!!

Allie's First Fieldtrip

Allie had her first fieldtrip to Pumpkinaze with Treasure House Preschool. She loves Miss Brenda and her friends at school. We had fun together, just a mommy and Allie date.

Daddy/Daughter Date

Maggie and Chris went to their first official Daddy/Daughter Date at the church in our new ward. They built temples out of sugar cubes. Their temple wasn't looking like a modern day temple, so they turned it in to a Book of Mormon times temple. Quite creative. They were proud of their creation.

A manly man

After moving into our house, Cooper asked if he could have the 5 sets of deer antlers that were in our front flower bed . I asked him where he would put them and he said his bedroom. I then asked, "Why would you put them there?" and he replied, "Because they are Manly!" I threw them in the garbage without him knowing.

Whoops!

Maggie's sprained arm turned out to be a buckle fracture. We found out the day we closed on our house. I was about to leave to go to the Title company, when Dr. Ammon called and said he would like to x-ray Maggie's arm again. Well, since she had been babying her arm all week, I took her back in and sure enough, it was broken. Whoops! I am a bad mama! I had told her to suck it up and quit complaining during the week thinking she was being a pansy. I feel so bad for my poor baby. She has had to wear her arm sling for 3 weeks now and 1 more to go. It is feeling so much better now and she is itching to play soccer. This Thursday is the last day.

We are new home owners!

I know I have already said that we were buying a house, but I haven't posted any pictures or anything. As of Sept. 10, 2009, we are new home owners. Our new home is located at
3653 W. 4925 S.
Roy, Ut. 84067
801-776-0738 (the same)

We are so happy in our new house. It is so much bigger--but not too big-- than our last house and we just feel comfortable here. Our ward is very nice and the kids have friends already. It has been a good change for us--even though we didn't move cities. I am still working on patching what seems like a thousand nail holes, painting ceilings--that they didn't trim out, decorating rooms, buying furniture--I am still a KSL addict. I have been canning too. It is never a dull moment around here.
