Spring is Sprung at Spring Training

I thought the bathroom doors were great at the Cubs Stadium.

The one-touch on Prius.
Chris and I were able to go to Arizona March 25-27 for MLB spring training. The weather was beautiful, the games were nice and relaxed, and Chris and I had a fabulous time just hanging out together. We went to 3 games: Dodgers vs. Brewers, Giants vs. Angels, and Cubs vs. Padres. We also had fantastic seats. We drove around in a hybrid Prius--no we didn't have any brake issues. It was fun just to start a car with a touch of a button. We went to a restaurant called Taylor Ray's--kind of a dive, but good food. We also went to The Cheesecake Factory and Olive Garden. My diet went out the window, but this week, we have been better. It was just a great trip with my husband!

100 Years of Scouting

Chris is our ward's Cub Master. They are having their Blue and Gold Banquet tonight to celebrate Scouting's 100th birthday. He is having Lance do Magician tricks and had me make a birthday cake for it. It is quite big--16" X 24". It is 4 cake mixes. I had fun making it. Hopefully it will all get eaten because I love cake.

Pray for Jude

Our two month old nephew, Jude, is in a crisis! He has severe RSV and pneumonia. I went to see him at McKay-Dee Hospital this morning and he was sleeping like a little angel. Lucy and Jeff have been such troopers--poor them... I just found out he has to be life-flighted to Primary Children's because his levels have digressed. Please add an extra prayer for Jude and his family.

Colorful Pancake/Waffle Week

This week I made green waffles for breakfast on St. Patrick's Day. Today, Maggie made Allie purple and blue pancakes so she would feel better. Allie has a bit of a fever today, so they must have worked, because Allie is feeling tons better.

I'm an injured man!

Cooper ran into the post of the swingset yesterday with his face. He bruised up his nose and eye pretty good. This morning, he was counting his injuries and stated, "I'm and injured Man!" (When he had the bandaid on his nose he also said he looked like a football player.)

Great Brain Project

Today, Maggie had her Great Brain Project. She could pick anything to study and present on. She decided to do it on the History of Cinnamon rolls, their ingredients and end with a demonstration. She did an awesome job and made wonderful cinnamon rolls for her class. She did it the Rachel Ray way. Maggie did the demo and then had the finished product all ready for them.

Cooper's 1st Jazz Game with His Dad

Cooper went to his first Jazz game tonight. Chris bought these tickets for the two of them for Christmas and tonight finally came. Chris even bought him a jersey tonight. I think the Jazz are playing the Timberwolves. We'll see if Cooper even remembers the score. They were both excited to go.

Happy St. Paddy's Day

Chris and Cooper were heading off to Coop's 1st Jazz game tonight and I told Chris to take the camera with him to document this fun occassion. Nope, he wouldn't do it for fear of losing the camera. So, he said he would take pictures with his blackberry and send them to me. Well, knowing Chris has never once sent me a picture from his phone, I made him show me that he would. He took the above picture and sent it to me right then. Thanks Chrissy!! (It is a little blurry though.)

King Cooper

Cooper went to the Treehouse Children's Museum today for a field trip. He was picked to be King Arthur in the Medieval room. King Cooper created a rule in his kingdom that did not allow his subjects to ride horses--only the king and queen were allowed. If anyone broke this law, they would be executed. Later, I asked him if he knew what executed was. He said it was to be sent away. Exiled or executed, same thing right?!

Spring is in the Air

It is 49 degrees outside right now and it is beautiful. I came inside to blog a bit and then I will go outside again. I don't know what to do with our garden, so I need to go plan it out. The kids are loving it too. Last night for FHE we went on a walk. I love Spring and Fall the best.
