Mary Todd Lincoln, AKA Maggie

Maggie dressed as Mary Todd Lincoln and showing "her" wedding band from Abraham that says "Love is Eternal."

The fifth grade at Freedom Elementary did a Living History Museum program. Maggie was chosen from her class to do her presentation as Mary Todd Lincoln. We made her costume from Allie's Scarlet O'Hara dress and it ended up looking like Mary's inaugural ball dress. She did a super-fantastic job and even donned a southern accent from Kentucky. Maggie was even quoted in the Standard Examiner. It was a superb program with the presentations and singing. Good job Mary-Maggie!

He's Playing Bas-Ket-Ball!

Cooper enjoyed playing Jr. Jazz basketball again this year. He is so fun to watch--especially when he brings the ball down the court. He hunches over as he dribbles. Coop is not extremely tall, so he even looks smaller as he hunches. He is quite agressive on the court too. He had lots of fun playing with his buddies--Aiden Hein, Justin Plane, Grant, Ryder, CJ, and a couple others. Justin's dad, Jeff was the coach.

Allie's 1st Friend Late-Over

McKenzie, Allie, and Ashlyn
The appetizer of choice.
Allie earned a late-over and invited Ashlyn and McKenzie over. They had dinner up in Allie's room--complete with menus. Allie was the waitress at first, but then mommy helped out. They had appetizers, main course, drinks, and dessert. She had several options for them to choose from. After dinner, they played and watched a movie.

Happy Valentine's Day

Heart-shaped pink pancakes, chocolate-covered strawberries(Maggie had strawberries dipped in sugar free chocolate sauce), red shirts, and roses were the items delivered to my sweethearts. Love my family!! I actually received the roses from my sweetheart! Chris and I went to a late dinner at Texas Roadhouse and the kids got a heart-shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's. Everyone was pleased. Happy Valentine's Day!

Let it snow!

It finally snowed! Christmas was bare! The kids were so excited to finally play in the snow. Allie had friends over--Ashlyn, Annika, Isabel, & Ben, so that always make it more fun too. (Cooper was playing with Miles in their snow.)

Reflections at District Level

All three of our children entered Reflections this year. The theme was "Diversity Means." It was a very hard topic for their brains to wrap around. Maggie and Allie went on to district level, but Cooper still participated and was okay with them winning at the school and district. He got a "participation."

Cooper's Baptism Day

Our three beautiful children!
Grandma Dianne & Grandpa Chick
Grandpa David & Grandma Joyce
Cooper was baptized today by his dad! He was so excited and we were so proud of him. Cooper is such a wonderful son and I am so proud and happy to be his mommy! It was such a good day. I felt the spirit as he was baptized and as he received the gift of the Holy Ghost.
His program was at 10:30 AM at our church. Tyson gave the baptism talk, Maggie gave the Holy ghost talk, and Allie sang "Baptism" accompanied by Aunt Lucy. Aunt Lisa led the music, Caden played the music, Miles said the first prayer, and Brandon said the closing prayer. Both Grandpas were the witnesses and a lot of the uncles-Kevin, Jeff, Roger, Kory, Andy, Lance, Don, Jimmy (cousin)--were in the circle as were Grandpa Chick and Grandpa David.

Santa Came!

Christmas morning started early this year, because it was a Sunday and we had 9 AM church! Our kids were so excited and fun. I LOVE Christmas with our morning prayer, gathered in a circle holding hands, the true meaning of Christmas--of a babe born in a stable to such wonderful parents, the children's picture on the stairs and then racing down them, checking the cookie plate to see if Santa ate his treats and his response on their hand-written note, the white presents from Santa, the joy I feel when I see my little family proclaiming, "This is just what I wanted!" I love seeing their precious faces with huge grins and giving thanks and hugs. It was a wonderful morning!
