Maggie is a reading machine! At her school they have an AR (accelerated reading) program to promote reading. Each quarter they have a goal and when they reach that goal, they have an AR party. This quarter's party was a Drive-in. They were to make a car and then they could sit in it to watch a movie with the treats they earned. (Maggie's goal was 20 points and she had 77 points.) It was fun to make the car together. She even designed a trunk to put her blanket and pillow in.

I didn't ever take pictures in their new Easter clothes this year, so yesterday I had them pose for me. It looks like Allie and Cooper grew a lot, but they were standing on rocks in the flower bed.

I have decided that I really like to create cakes. I love shows like "The Ultimate Cake-off" and "The Cake Boss." I told Lucy that I would make a Star Wars cake for Tate's 4th birthday tomorrow, so I looked some up on line and voila, this is what I created. I love to do this...it did take a bit of time though.

Did you know there are alligators in Twin Falls, Idaho? Who knew?!
Scott and Amie have a great donkey named Ecuador. He is a very old donkey. In fact someone asked Amie if they could use him to breed. Amie then said, "I think he would have a heart attack if he tried that." The kids had fun with him.

We went to the lovely metropolis of Twin Falls, Idaho this last weekend to visit our great friends, Scott and Amie Rasmussen and their 4 boys, Isaac, Collin, Wyatt, and Emmett. On our family road trips, we always have our select music that we love to listen to. We were rockin out to 'Summer Lovin' from Grease. We sound sooo good after much practice.

Since Elynn and her girls were in town, we took advantage of hanging out together. Kim and her 3 kids, Elynn and her 3 girls, Me and my 3 kids, and Tanah, Grace, and Miles all went swimming at the indoor Clearfield Aquatic center. We had to do something indoors since it was snowing outside. We had a great time at the pool. They have lots of fun things for kids to do--splash zone, lazy river, water slide, etc.

Yesterday, we went to Lance and Teresa's annual Easter Hunt. The kids always have fun with that one because they have to find the candy and then put it someone else's basket. Lance always does a cute job in talking about the real meaning of Easter and why you should give to others.
Why is it that kids will go from a perfectly good area to play in, make a mess of it, and then take their toys to our bedroom to play?

I thought the bathroom doors were great at the Cubs Stadium.
The one-touch on Prius.
Chris and I were able to go to Arizona March 25-27 for MLB spring training. The weather was beautiful, the games were nice and relaxed, and Chris and I had a fabulous time just hanging out together. We went to 3 games: Dodgers vs. Brewers, Giants vs. Angels, and Cubs vs. Padres. We also had fantastic seats. We drove around in a hybrid Prius--no we didn't have any brake issues. It was fun just to start a car with a touch of a button. We went to a restaurant called Taylor Ray's--kind of a dive, but good food. We also went to The Cheesecake Factory and Olive Garden. My diet went out the window, but this week, we have been better. It was just a great trip with my husband!
Chris is our ward's Cub Master. They are having their Blue and Gold Banquet tonight to celebrate Scouting's 100th birthday. He is having Lance do Magician tricks and had me make a birthday cake for it. It is quite big--16" X 24". It is 4 cake mixes. I had fun making it. Hopefully it will all get eaten because I love cake.

Today, Maggie had her Great Brain Project. She could pick anything to study and present on. She decided to do it on the History of Cinnamon rolls, their ingredients and end with a demonstration. She did an awesome job and made wonderful cinnamon rolls for her class. She did it the Rachel Ray way. Maggie did the demo and then had the finished product all ready for them.
